Sunday Thanks: Wedding Music

We have had the great pleasure of working with our church's wonderful music director in putting together the music for our wedding ceremony. James had a particular song that he really wanted to use for the procession. It is not a church song--in fact, it is from a movie (are you surprised!?).

We gave the music to our director a few weeks ago and today she played it for us. It sounds absolutely beautiful, and it made me so excited to know that I will be walking down the aisle to a song that means so much to James!

So, today I am obviously feeling thankful for our patient music director who has been so committed to  ensuring that our wedding ceremony is perfect! We both feel that, as long as our ceremony is exactly what we want, the rest of the day can go any way, good or bad, and we won't care.

Today I'm linking up with Aunie at aunie SAUCE. Every Thursday she does a feature called Thursday 13, and each week is a different topic. This week is my first time linking up and the topic is 13 things of my choice.

3. Hey Eugene! --Pink Martini

4. The General --Dispatch

5. Be My Escape --Relient K

6. Who Am I --Casting Crowns

7. The Lonely Goatherd --from The Sound of Music

9. Take it Easy --The Eagles

10. Paradise by the Dashboard Light --Meatloaf

B-B-B-Benny and the Jets

For those of you who know me personally, you know that my nickname among family and friends is "Benny." So, fittingly, Benny and the Jets by Elton John is sort of my theme song.

On Sunday night, James and I went to see Elton John in concert at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, NY. It was awesome! Elton John is, of course, an idol to my generation who grew up listening to him with our parents. He is a charming performer who kept us entertained for over two hours, even if we were soaking wet (we had lawn seats and it rained, oh, just a little).

I only taped a short bit of Benny and the Jets, as the rest of the song was spent jamming out and dancing around playing air-drums. I hope you enjoy! We certainly did!
